* Projects can be undertaken on an hourly rate or a fixed
price depending on the client’s preference. If a
project requires more than one type of editing, charges
will be based upon the highest rate. For example, if a
document requires both substantive and technical editing,
the project’s total cost will be $9.95 per page.
Costs associated with postage, return of documents, printing,
and faxing are additional to the hourly rate.
Each article, document, manuscript, etc. is unique and
difficult to price in terms of editing without an initial
overview by Molly. Written work that requires extensive
correction and restructuring or has numerous formatting
issues may be very time-consuming and therefore more costly
to edit. Thus, it is recommended that clients describe
accurately and honestly the degree of editing thought to
be required and, if possible, provide a sample. This will
allow Molly to more accurately predict the cost of editing
services. If no sample is provided, changes may occur to
the initial projected cost upon receipt of the document.
However, the fee will always be set before editing begins
so that both the client and Molly are clear upon the price.
** Editing of legal footnotes is done in conformity with
The Bluebook’s Uniform System of Citation and The
Texas Law Review’s Manual on Usage and Style unless
otherwise requested. All other editing relies on the rules
and regulations as outlined by Strunk and White in The
Elements of Style and MLA (Modern Language Association)
documentation style.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All work submitted for editing is recognized as the author’s
intellectual property and confidentiality will be maintained.
Client files will be kept for one month after completion
of the project. Longer projects (i.e., theses, legal manuals,
etc.) will be kept for 6 months before deletion.
